Almost 135,000 miles on the Yukon and the seals still look good (although starting to flatten a bit.....)

Same here..... not sure if a once a year treatment does much good but it's what I do never the less. That's the product GM recommends isn't it?

I do like the M40 for all the seals.........

      Re: Exterior Rubber Seals

Twice a year I use Shin-Etzu silicone grease on the rubber seals of my S2000, as prescribed by Honda. I have started using M40 during the in-between months. Any suggestions how often I should apply it? monthly? bi-monthly?

I guess I apply something about once a month when I thoroughly clean the interior.

I'm a huge fan of M40. In my experience it cleans, conditions and protects. I believe M40 extends the life of the rubber moldings.

About my average when I do M40, weather pending.

I don't remember what the manual says about how often, but I do it in the summer. I think M40 is good enough but, I want those seals to last a long time.

I've used M40 on my 18 year old MR2 since I bought it in the fall of 1990. I think the rubber trim still looks like new. I typically use it at least monthly.

I use a spray dressing , or waterbased dressing.. It helps from the doors freezing up in the winter in the cold climates.... Like Fargo ND
