M205 or something similar at least in reason to use, like 80. Would this be something I could use every couple months, when doing a detail on my car? Or is something like M205 a step you don't do, if paint is still in good shape with no visual defects?
    You could.

Remember besides the aggressiveness of a product you can also control pressure, time, application material, (polishing pad or finishing pad), buffing cycle or buffing time, etc.

In other words you can use a product very gently and get less cleaning ability out of it.

That said, if the finish is still in great shape/acceptable then just re-wax using your DA polisher and either a polishing pad or a finishing pad, remember pad choice can affect a wax and a polishing pad can provide cleaning power just by itself.

A12 and ColorX are both cleaner/waxes and great maintenance waxes for daily drivers.
