I have a Random Orbital mechine from pepboy..
It contains 3 different bonnets
one is like this..
one is cotton
and one is very soft..
I do not know which one for which step..
Thanks..
Regardless of which specific style of polisher you have, the type you have is what we've labeled a "Traditional Orbital Buffer" and these don't have the power to remove swirls and scratches out of most clear coat paints.
You can however use it to clean any surface staining off using either Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or ColorX, so buy one of them and give it a try.
Test on just a small section of your car's hood or deck-lid, work an area about 16" to 20" square or so.
Apply some product to the face of your bonnet, place the bonnet on the paint and then turn the machine on and work the product over a small section for about a minute or so, don't buff until you're buffing dry.
After you've buffed this section put the buffer off to the side and wipe the residue off and compare the paint where you worked to the paint surrounding this test section and see if there's a difference and post back here what you see.

Okay..
I would try color-x first...
If it doesn't work very well then I'll try Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner!
Skyline, ColorX is more aggressive than DCPC. If you are not getting the results you want from ColorX, you will need to use a more aggressive product. You will probably want to step up to a dual-action polisher and #80 and #83.
Use a yellow polishing pad with ColorX. Meguiar's has not approved the use of a cutting pad and D/A with any of its polishes.
Re: HI, I am new to this forum, and I need some help!
ColorX is more aggressive than DCPC...
So I do not really have to try DCPC..?
what are #80 and #83...?
I think I am gonna try DCPC then ColorX, but not sure if I need ScratchX or not.
Maybe I can get a ScratchX for the future if DCPC&COLORX work fine?
Vector Orbital Polisher seems like my polisher..
I think I am going to buy a G110
I was thinking if I use a polishing pad, do I still need a Bonnet to polish?
And the answer is no...right?
