  • Is This Good?

Ok I've just actually started to detail fully. Before it just used to be Wash car, then Wax it. But now i'm actually going to do the full detail job. Everything is going to be done by hand. No money for DA or anything like that. I'm not even going to touch the Professional line yet. I'm only 17 haha. I've already clay barred the car so that can be crossed off the list.

Currently I think I have everything planned out but I want to get some clarification on it.

    1st.) NXT Car Wash
    2nd.) ScratchX
    3rd.) Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner
    4th.) Deep Crystal Polish
5th.) NXT Tech Wax 2.0 Paste
    6th.) UQD

I have all the products already. I am going to apply everything with a foam applicator then wiping off with a microfiber cloth. Is there anything that I may be missing?

    Re: Is This Good?

ScratchX is a paint cleaner (more aggressive than the Deep Crystal) so it's kind of redundant to use both

Yes, or you can use DCPC on the entire car and only use ScratchX on isolated scratches

Ok. Is there anything that I may be missing at all from this list? I'm planning to spend all tomorrow working on my car. It's a White 98 Dodge Neon R/T by the way.

Another thing I might skip is the UQD for the sixth step, a better option would be two coats of NXT - keep in mind its best to apply and remove your final coat of wax and leave it alone, resisting the urge of continually wiping the paint. Its best to give 24 hours so the wax can fully cure. After that wipe away and use all the UQD you want!

I'd skip the DC Polish step, since you probably won't notice a difference with white paint

                Re: Is This Good?

Is it ok to let the wax cure outside? My car is always outside so i'm not sure if it's going to mess anything up. Tomorrow I'm planning to do everything in my friend's garage.

Give DC Polish a try in a small test spot, then look see if you can tell the difference. I have had good luck using DC Polish on white.

I would use the scratch-x in isolated spots. Wait off on the uqd for at least 24 hrs. Be sue to post your befores and afters.

I'll post up before and after pictures. One more question, people say use scratchX on isolated but there are swirl marks all over. Should I use scratchX all over the car then? One more hour til I work on the car.

ScratchXing an entire car *****... Dont try to do it all at once. We could have recomended a different product, #105 to do an entire car, but it still isnt an easy task.

Just do your best on a panel or two with ScratchX, and then move on. Doing too much will just mean your arm gets tired and then the next panels you do wont be as good.

Another question. Would scratchX mess up vinyl?

Yeah, I dont think you will want to use a paint cleaner on vinyl.. what is the vinyl part of?
