Yes, but it's the least aggressive paint cleaner we make so it's limited as to what it can remove by hand or machine.

It would probably be a good idea to start your own thread for your project instead of tagging onto Corvetteman's thread for his project.

umm thanks for the reply, but what I said was the DC2 not DC1 ( Paint Cleaner ) to be used on top of the DC1 after. But thanks yeh I should but thought we were on similar topic. Thanks tho.

Well the answer is the same, you can use DC2 or any of our pure polishes on fresh paint.

Mag & Aluminum Polish:

"Apply a small amount of polish onto surface with a clean towerl. Hard rubbing is not necessary. Gently rub polish onto metal surface until a black residue appears. Residue buffs off easily with a clean towel."

Does this translate into:

"We will get you as close to obtaining Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or RSI as possible... you must work your bottom off 50 minutes to remove the residue from one wheel?"

If not, what am I doing wrong? Instructions followed properly, wheel was washed clean and dried.

I could forget the trouble but only the wheelnuts shined. No change in the wheel.

What are you working on? That is what kind of wheel?

When you rub on the wheel with the polish and turn your cloth over is it turning black?

Standard corvette wheel. Chrome. Chrome polish not available and it is mentioned in forum that mag & alu ok for chrome too.

No, it is not turning to black. It is staying as it is. Little pink... and dries like that... And comes pink to the cloth.

Chrome usually looks good, (shiny like a mirror), or there's something wrong with it and it looks bad. You can clean dirty, stained chrome wheels but if they go bad, as in the chrome layer flaking or rusting off, then the only answer is to have the component re-chromed.

If it's shiny like a mirror, more polishing won't make it more shiny than it should be stock.

That sounds right. Polishing chrome with a polish will remove dirt, built-up brake dust and other contaminants that can show up as black or brown on a cloth but once any surface dirt or contaminants are removed you cloth will remain the color of the cloth originally plus the color of the polish.

Are you saying your chrome wheels are not shiny and reflective?

Yes, they are shiny. I thought polish can make them better since they are almost 3 years old.

Well then, regular wheel cleaner will suffice.

Chrome is very resistant to degradation as long as it's kept clean. About the only time chrome will go bad is if dirt and moisture are allowed to build-up over time and left unchecked.

Chrome can stain with topical contaminants, but a quality metal polish will remove the contaminants and reveal the original chrome beauty.

Just by coincidence, I hand polished all 4 chrome wheels on our Honda Pilot last night using our new Chrome Polish and it worked great. The wheels had some light staining from a combination of road grime and brake dust.

I would use a chrome polish rather than aluminum polish.
As to time I spend about 5 minutes per wheel polishing a chrome wheel.

I would love to have the polish come of in 5 mins but it just wouldnt. I had to spend close to an hour to have it removed from my wheels.

Chrome is not available. Only Mag-Alu.

CorvetteMan I use the Ultimate Quik Detail spray with quality microfiber cloths on my 2009 corvette coupe all the time. When I'm finish with the body I finish up polishing the chrome wheels with the microfiber cloths and detail spray.

The detail spray also smells GREAT!!!

If you remember, i had my trunk lid Scratch-X'ed 3 times, then NXT Tech Wax 2.0 coat was applied.

Today, some water dropped from the pipes on the car. 2 drops... One fell on the trunk lid, and the other one right next to it (between the trunk and convertible top).

It etched in few minutes (some chemicals were present i believe).

I couldn't wipe it off.

The one on waxed area went off with a slight touch of Scratch-X. No trace.

The one on unwaxed (but it was detailed and waxed by the car company a month ago) area took close to 15 mins with almost 7-8 hard rubbings of Scratch-X. Diminished in size but did not disappear.

I would say NXT Tech Wax 2.0 does its job very well.
