To keep this from happening with an air-tight bottle and spray head you would have to loosen the spray head to allow air in or have a design to the spray head to allow air to leak in.

The science of bottle and spray heads can be as complicated as a person wants to make it, (Incorporate a one-way valve to enable air to leak in but no liquid to leak out and find a way to locate it on the bottle so it's not visible), or as complicated as the market will support.

I knew someone would better explain it. Thanks Mike!

I moved this over to Detailing 101 since the thread turned out to be more of a question than an introduction

This might be what you ae remembering.
            Bottles Leak

            FWIW, This isn't something new.
Search the forum for bottles leak. You will find lots of reading.
It definitely isn't limited to Meguiar's bottles, either. I have lots of different brands and many, (maybe all), of them will leak under certain conditions. I just try to avoid those conditions.

              Welcome to Meguiar's Online!!!

MY UQD bottle leaked with nothing wrong with it.
I dropped and cracked the nozzle on an NXT Quick Wax Bottle.

Other than that you shouldn't have all of your bottles leak???

Ive only had one bottle of QID leak.

I usually save all of my QD bottles so I can re-use them for other cleaners and such. Currently I use them to keep some detailer line glass cleaner in my Jeep at all times. Cant stand driving with dirty windows!
