  • Is the pad supposed to spin on a PC?

I was using 83 and had poor results using my PC at first. I followed Mike's how to article. I tried wiping off the product after each pass etc. Well, I marked the pad using a marker to see if it is spinning, and it doesn't spin at the recommended pressure of 15 to 20 pounds. I used a bath scale to make sure I was using the correct pressure. The pad doesn't spin that much. I tried laying off on the pressure and letting it spin with decent results. I feel like I got enough of the oxidation to removed to go with 80 now. Doesn't the pad have to spin?

Yes, the pad has to spin.

If you put a black line on the pad, and it isnt moving, then you are using too much pressure.

Remember, with a PC, it is more the product removing swirls than the pad, so you have to have the pad moving to work the product in. You want to move the PC very slowly over a 2 foot or less square, but the pad should be moving the whole time.

If moving the PC slowly with the pad moving wont remove the defects, then something stronger would be needed.

.....Also make sure to clean the pad on the fly after every application or at least every other application or the pad will get saturated and not spin. M83 is great stuff once you get it down.

I cleaned the pad after every application. I have been trying to follow all the how to articles. With the recommended pressures, there is no way it will spin. I'll try it again with 80 today. I heard this is easier to use.

Are you keeping the pad flat against the surface?
