But like a previous post said...if Mike says one thing then he may be scared that everybody else will start to follow it. Because he knows what he's talking about. And everybody's car care technique is different I guess. I'm no expert...just a newbie.

    My 2 cents.
Again, not to speak out of turn here, and I am surprised he hasn't chimed in. Mike is most likely using the same processes that we all use, just perfected over many years. It all takes practice as any of us can see from the multiple post on the forum of how someone used something and it didn't work correctly the first, second, or even third time, but with practice, perseverance, and a little info here on the forum, it most likely will and does work out in the end.

I guess those who said it wasn't an appropriate question to answer were right.

We'll just have to keep reading between the lines!

Hey give the guy a chance! I'm pretty sure he's thinking out a clever response, so much to please his audience but at the same time avoiding a literal and superficial answer. I bet you he's just gonna blow us away when he does finally reply!

          This is what he uses:

He uses Meguiars products to wash, Meguiars products to clay, Meguiars products to polish, Meguiars products to wax and, Meguiars products to maintain

He also spends a lot of time helping people. I imagine he has to ice his fingers after a day at the computer especially after a weekend at the pc. Hey Mike Phillips: you sure are appreciated.

              Interesting read...

If you read enough of my replies on this forum one of the themes that you'll see repeating itself is,

KISS = Keep It Simple Simon

I don't own a show car but instead daily drivers, so I use the same things I recommend on this forum to maintain them. The below is just personal preference, for example I know Gold Class car wash is our Top Shelf car wash but I like the suds of NXT Car Wash, it's a perception thing...

              Wash: NXT Car Wash
Dry: Combination of Soft Touch Microfiber Chamois and Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel
              Clay: Smooth Surface Clay Kit
Paint Correction: "Use the least aggressive product to get the job done"
Polish: If I polish I usually use M07 Show Car Glaze or M81 Hand Polish
              Protect: NXT Tech Wax 2.0
Maintain: Ultimate Quik Detailer - Quik Interior Detailer
Rubber and Plastic Trim: Gold Class Trim Detailer
Leather: Gold Class Rich Leather Spray
              Interior Vinyl: M40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner
              Tires: M40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner or or Hyper-Dressing
Glass: NXT Glass Cleaner and Glass Cleaner Concentrate (Whatever's handy, they both work great)
              Chrome: Hot Rims Chrome Polish
Aluminum: Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish

              Favorite Product: Ultimate Quik Detailer

The closest thing I ever came to a real "Show Car" was my Sanger Drag Boat and I did everything possible to maximize it's potential without painting the hull. I'm not a big believer in painting drag boat hulls that are taken over 100 miles per hour because over time the stress and flex of the hull will cause stress cracks in the paint, so instead over the 20 years I owned it I wet-sanded and buffed out the top of the Hugger Orange hull 3 times and after the 3rd time I could tell that was that last time to do it safely. After compounding and polishing the gel-coat was maintained with M07 Show Car Glaze and usually M20 Polymer Sealant.

The black stripe was black Imron and polished out like obsidian and the custom seats were covered with vinyl and M40 kept them flexible and looking new all the time. The paint on the scoop was black enamel and easy to polish and maintain. Most of the rest of the components in the boat were aluminum and maintained with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze All Metal Polish.

The trailer was just so-so but once the boat hit the water it was a show boat that was all go... all the time...

No mysteries... just keep it simple and stay on top of it...

              Like Barry says,

"Frequent car care is easy car care"

Wow! Fantastic. Thanks for the great answers Mike!

Even though I know it's silly to think this way, I'm happy to know I use a lot of the products you use as well.

I'm sure your Daily Drivers look gorgeous!

                  Nice Response Mike!

Do you get any discounts or any product you want for being such a pro and on MOL? That would be nice.

If I would have to guess, Im sure there is a Meguiar's Employee Discount. This is just a guess since I know a lot of companies do this.

Employees do get a discount but if I'm out of something and want it that day I just run down to one of the local auto parts stores and pick it up, there's a Kragen, Pep Boys, AutoZone, K-Mart and a Wal-Mart nearby.

Ha! All those doubters out there!!! Mike is a class act we all knew he would chime in!!

I like the list mike and like another guy said, it's neat to see a true pro using the same products as the rest of us and getting them from wal mart no less!!

now lets get walmart to sell a full line up of meguiars products!

What store chain has the most different Meguiars products? Pep Boys, maybe? I wonder if Mike knows.

It's nice you have all of those stores. I have no good auto parts stores nearby. There is an advance auto parts store, but they don't carry mirror glaze products or much at all....

I think it depends on what area you live in. I have seen people on here go to Autozone with an expanded line of Meguiars products while mine here doesn't offer that many.

i have gone to the local parts store and "sold" meguiars products to them and soon after there is a little more selection. over time that selection has grown.. where i live in wisconsin there are a ton of parts stores. some have one meguiars product and another store will have what the other doesnt. their prices though are rediculous. for example.....hand polish is like $25, pads are as high as $30 and the mirror glaze sealant 2.0 is $27
