Re: New 2.0 Pads
So I can order from MG directly with no problem? I only ask because I was told by an idividual that if I ordered the pads from MG that they were on back order. This was the person from the site I was ordering from. I just wanted to know because I have been asking questions about various products and I am finally going to order the Flex but i wanted to new pads since they fit and dont' have the tearing issue (hopefullY) that the older pads had per the forum. Oh and I haven't had a chance to call Customer Service- ( probably should have done that first) - I'm making my order online right now so that s why I'm asking.

Re: New 2.0 Pads
Well, I thought that some of you may want to see the differences between the Soft Buff and the Soft Buff 2.0 pads.
The first noticable thing is that the pad is dished. As Mike posted, this is to help mount the W66 backing plate. If you are using a rotary, this will greatly help center the pad.
The second item is that the velcro is indeed imbedded in the glue. This will prolong the life of the pad and make sure the velcro never peels off.
The center is covered over by the glue. Unfortunately, this means that the centering button of the W64 backing plate must be removed if you want to use it with the new pad.
Lastly, the glue goes up the walls of the pad. This should prevent the backing plate from cutting into the pad.

Re: New 2.0 Pads
Thank you very much! It's ordering time! One question? I know what products the 8207 and 9207 are for but is 7207 for? I was told that I would only need 1 of these pads starting out. I know it's for cutting but it's seems on my chart the 8 series can be used with paint cleaners. I hope this is not a dumb question because I have been on the site look for this and someone answered me about the 8 and 9 but not the 7.

Actually, that is not the glue... it's the dual laminate backing. That laminate is what will not allow product to seep through the foam into the velcro. In additon, it is also what allows the pad to be machine washable
Great pics BTW
