There are hundreds of these on my car. I used my camera's macro lens, so it looks alot bigger than real life, they are about the size of a pin. It's hard to see depth, but there is a tiny pit in each one.
Further view, still at magnification, to show severity.
Sorry about the vignetting, an accesory lens does that when it's not at max zoom. It's all over the car, in this high of a concentration
Print this thread out and take it with you, most the time you have to print it out in Landscape mode.
This problem with the paint is not your fault and while it might not be the dealerships fault someone needs to pay to have the car repainted. (It's brand new right?)

It's an 06, just got it from a dealer, they had cleaned it up, and probably just polished off the rust marks so I didn't notice it. This explains why they detailedi t several times in 2 weeks before I got it, and the day before I got it, moved it indoors out of the rain. As soon as it rained, these appeared.
Wow as in that is horrible, I imagine. Sounds as though the car is used. I don't know how you would/should/could proceed, but I would not be a happy camper. Sorry to see this has happened. As Mike said, print this out and take it to them. Hopefully they will acknowledge this and do something about it.
I'm sure I will be needing that good luck! I can understand them not being liable to some previous damage that Chevy did, but they covered it up from me, and for paying 10k for it, they should do SOMETHING.
IF I have to get it completely repainted, that could cost a couple thousand. For that price, I could get a brand new 08.
So, took it to the dealer today. They decided to blame it all on me. 'Cause of course, I did that much damage to the car in 3 days. Then he started to blame it on IFO, which, when I pointed out it wasn't on my roof or hood, he shut up. Then he started claiming "all white cars get this bad, you just have to live with it."
Basically they don't want to do anything. These guys don't want to do anything. When they asked what I wanted them to do, I mentioned clay barring it. He went so far as to claim "clay bar is an abrasive that strips the paint off the car." I laughed a little, and said I'd just do it myself, to which he suddenly claimed it WASN't abrasive, but I should never try to do it myself, because I will scratch my car all up. *rolls eyes* Then he went on to tell my parents I should be using DAWN to wash my car!!!!!
He wanted me to bring in my car Wednesday, and said they'd polish and wax it. I don't see how sealing the metal in my paint would be a very smart thing at all. I said clay bar or nothing, and he said "we'll see."
What a fool. And of course, I can't take the car back.
