    Re: Top of small SUV

I use a 2 step project stool made by the same company as the work platform shown above (Gorilla Ladders), unfortunately it doesn’t look like they make it anymore. I think it’s better than the ones they offer now, the steps have a lot more surface area (top step is about 14x15 with a height of 21") and the project tray is more of a storage box with a double hinged folding lid that makes the try. The storage box is built in toward you instead of out toward your work area, which helps you get closer and you can also lean on it for stability when needed.
Lowe’s also carries a number of project stools/ladders and platforms that are made by Werner that are worth checking out.

Does the Werner Platform have a rubber coating across the top? I saw this today. Last week I worked on a gl450. Using 1 of my 5 gallon buckets just didn't cut it.

I don't think it does. There is a traction type tape you can buy and stick on it, like the stuff on skate boards.

          Anyone seen this ladder?

          www.

I just found it. I read the comment about kind of hard to step and down. I'm going to keep looking because for the price i'm probably going to pick the other ladder up when I get off work. The traction tape, do you think Lowes carries it? I started looking at that other ladder and it looks like that bar comes out. Anyway, I'm going to try and email them about it to see.

I bought a platform a while back and love it. It's a little bit more price wise, but it's adjustable in couple inch increments so I can set it at a different height for me or my wife, and has room to move without worrying about falling off. It also has bumpers on the front so it doesn't hit the car when moving it around, and it retracts the casters when you step on it so it doesn't move. http://www.awdirect.com/pro-step-hea...350/equipment/
