I just finished washing and waxing a friend's red Mini. I use the same procedure; rinse, wash thoroughly, clay the entire exterior while still wet along with a spray of final detail. Then I wash again and dry.
When I dried the exterior, I noticed that the paint below the window on the rear hatch was rough. I know that I clayed that area, so I picked up scratchx and applied it to the affected area. No change; the paint still felt rough. I haven't included a picture since the defect can't be seen.
Is this a paint defect created in the factory? Opinions welcome!
