  • You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'

    Hi Guys/Gals

You pull into your garage and the car is WET with Beads of Rain Water All Over It

I just bought a 2008 Ford GT Mustang Limited " BULLITT" Dark Highland Green color

Just like in the film: BULLITT the one Steve McQueen drove. And let me tell you guys ITS A HONEY and can that car MOVE

    PROBLEM:

How can I remove those RAIN DROPS & WATER from the car without getting any SRATCHES or SWIRL MARKS on the BULLITT

    1. What do I use
    2. Mirco Fiber Cloth
    3. A special kind of Squasey

Need all the help I can get on this one guys.

    Thank You
    GOD BLESS

A quick detailer product and a MF cloth would be best. Got a few to choose from. The UQD or the pro-line version of it are the best it seems for after washes, or for your kind of purpose.

Totally sweet ride man! Can post pics in your gallery? Or perhaps in the section to show off your latest detail next time you wash her? I want to see more!

If it were me, I'd wait to wash it. Driving in the rain gets all sorts of grit and dirt all over the paint. Might be too much for a QD and a towel.

I wash mine tonight, drove in sprinkle this morning.
I washed Saturday after drove in the rain storm for 3 days.

I am going to wash with Gold Class wash, pressure wash to tires/brakes, dry, and QUD. Hyper Dressing for Tires after that mine would be just as good as new

After driving in the rain I would either do a conventional wash or use a waterless wash.
I don't think Meguiars has a waterless wash but I have used them with great results.

UQD and microfiber will do the trick

Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'

Chances are that water is already dirty, you likely got some nice dirty roadspray on the side of the car, and there was probably a nice layer of dust on the car before hand.

I'd wash the car properly when you get a chance and not risk rubbing dirt and water all over the new paint.

Congrats on getting the new Mustang, the Bullit is definitley one of my favorite S197 'stangs!

What if a the car gets sprayed with a hose, then gently 'wiped' with a waffle MF WITH running water over the panel that's being attended to, ONLY then the quick detailer with a MF?

I own a blk corvette and i thought i could do what your thinking and the next time i washed the car i saw abunch of light scratches. what happens is you get a film of dirt even if you spray her off . why not just have some fun . put on your slicker and wash the car in the rain pull her in the garage and q detailer to spray on her and wipe woth the micro fiber towel . clean and shiney too as well as some good fun watching the neighbors look at you

Like some here have mentioned, wait until you can do a proper wash. If you have a good sealant or wax on it, the rainwater shouldn't do any harm.
When you see the car after it dries you may be glad you didn't just wipe it. Can be pretty dirty although you can't see it when it's wet.

My ideal would be rinsing to remove dirt, shampoo. let the rain rinse the shampoo and then wipe.
I noticed that rain water is great for rinsing.
