Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'
I will use NXT Speed or Ultimate QD if my car gets rained on the first day or two after a wash, but only if the roads are dry by the time I start home. That is, only if I haven’t driven in the rain or on wet road where too much grit is already onboard. Beyond that, I let ‘er go until the next wash, which is never more than a few days away at that point.
If the vehicle is already wet you might as well at least spray it off before drying and quick detailing. Of course, all your saving is 15 minutes and an ounce of Hyperwash.

You could use QD after rain, but at that point, I think you are on your own and hopefully nothing negative comes of it. The rain/water that is being thrown all over your car while driving has all of the dirt and grit from the road mixed in as well. Waiting until it dries isn't really going to make it better, the grime is still there.
You really just need to use your judgment, but if you don't want to risk swirling or scratching your paint, you should wash it.

Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'
So what is the true role of the QD? Just to maintain "the look" between waxings?
It rained on my way to work on Monday, but the sun was out during lunch. Since I had a great coat of NXT, the car was already slick and only had a slight film from being driven in the rain. Therefore, I pulled out some QD, a MF towel, and went to work.
Yes there was some dirt on the MF, but trust me, I left no scratches. And this was done on some soft Honda paint.
I say QD it when it's "dusty-dirty," but use common sense when doing so. I wouldn't dare use QD/MF only after driving in mud or after accumulating salt on the road from snow.

I always wash and wipe in one direction only. The way water runs on my car. This to avoid swirls.
I'm getting more and more complicatedand my car shows it.

Simply put, regardless of what kind of car it is:
IF YOU WANT A SCRATCH FREE FINISH, YOU WILL HAVE TO PROPERLY WASH IT WITH SOAP AND WATER AND THEN PROPERLY DRY IT.

"2. Do I wait till the car dries off in my garage... Hummm Then WHAT "
Then you wash it. NEVER QD a car that has been driven in the rain. That's just a swirlfest waiting to happen! Like a previous poster said, wash your car in the rain and pull it into the garage and dry it. Your neighbors might think you are nuts but we won't!

Here's Where I'm Comin' From

Hi Davey g-force
Back in the day way back in Brooklyn New York were I come from but live now in Vegas.
I use to pull up to a johnny pump (fire hyderin) take out a bucket from my truck along with some TURTLE WASH & WAX.
Open-up the johnny pump, water the car down and hit it with the soapy turtle wash & waz.
Then hit it was a couple of buckets of water dried it off and what was that
I Las Vegas I can't do that and as a matter of fact if I could I wouldn't.
You say just wash it again Yeah! Right!
BUT HOW & I'm not kidding.
I got a brand new limited edition '08 Ford Mustang GT 'BULLITT'
Now again like I said before: If I get stuck in the rain and drive it home the car will dry off or still be wet.
Now, how to I begin to wash the rain stain off the car
1. Do I just get a Microfiber cloth and start rubbing the rain water off it
I DON'T THINK SO.
2. Do I wait till the car dries off in my garage... Hummm Then WHAT
I'm looking for the FIRST APPROACH to just how do I start washing it off.
TO AVOID ANY SCRATCH MARKS ON THE CAR ~ THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING MY BROTHER.
Thanks 4 your imput
GOD BLESS
Schooner

My ideal would be rinsing to remove dirt, shampoo. let the rain rinse the shampoo and then wipe.
I noticed that rain water is great for rinsing.

Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'
Like some here have mentioned, wait until you can do a proper wash. If you have a good sealant or wax on it, the rainwater shouldn't do any harm.
When you see the car after it dries you may be glad you didn't just wipe it. Can be pretty dirty although you can't see it when it's wet.

Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'
I own a blk corvette and i thought i could do what your thinking and the next time i washed the car i saw abunch of light scratches. what happens is you get a film of dirt even if you spray her off . why not just have some fun . put on your slicker and wash the car in the rain pull her in the garage and q detailer to spray on her and wipe woth the micro fiber towel . clean and shiney too as well as some good fun watching the neighbors look at you

Re: You Just Drove In The Rain 'NOW WHAT'
What if a the car gets sprayed with a hose, then gently 'wiped' with a waffle MF WITH running water over the panel that's being attended to, ONLY then the quick detailer with a MF?
