    Re: Windows Streaking

I use the Meguiars Glass cleaner Concentrate, along with 2 ads glass microfibers. I like applying the cleaner with one and wiping it all off with the second glass microfiber. As long as I have done it this way, I have solved my streaking issues.

Never tired the news paper thing....I like using 2 Huck Surgical towels for my windows...along with a good glass cleaner of coarse. I think having the second towel to follow up with is KEY.

        You are correct.

Having a second, final wiping cloth helps a lot because it's clean, or at least cleaner than your initial wiping cloth.

The goal is clear, clean, streak-free glass, wiping glass with a cloth that is wet with product and the gunk you removed creates the potential for a person to merely re-apply or transfer the removed gunk back onto the glass as you're wiping the glass trying to remove gunk.

Switching to a clean, dry secondary wiping cloth instead of trying to do the entire job with one cloth reduces the potential for streaking because when you remove the initial towel from the equation you have just removed the source of contamination.

I concur. I use a different glass cleaner product, Stoner, but use 2 terri cloth towels. One wipes the product off the window and the other is used for a final dry. After the windshield appears dry, I use the same towel to "polish" the glass. This means continuing to go over the surface pressing pretty firmly to remove anything left behind. Eventually the towel will glide pretty nicely over the glass giving a pretty good indication its clean.

Its not fool proof and when the sun hits the class certain ways I may see small areas I missed but with a touch of the towel they are gone. My windows are so clean my wife has asked me more than once if my window is up or down...lol
