The word Bump is used when a person wants to focus attention back onto a pre-existing thread that in some cases a question was asked but for whatever the reason it was never answered. In this example the person who originally posted a question would Reply to the thread and instead of re-asking the question they would type in the word

bump

and hit the submit reply button.


Some forums don't allow the bumping of threads we're pretty casual about it and often times I'll bump a thread myself for a variety of reasons such as to make it rise to the top of the "Most Recent Threads" list so that I'll see it and thus remember to get back to it with some information.

Does that make sense?
