Meguiar's does not recommend applying any of their waxes to window glass.

      Re: waxing windows

I have waxed all of my windows in the past, EXCEPT the windshield. Water slides off nice. Do NOT wax the windshield. Makes the wipers ****, chatter, and generally useless. Tried it once.

do not wax the windows. well i wouldn't.

if you want the water to bead off, go buy a bottle of RAIN-X.

        works AWESOME!!!

apply two thin even coats and you'll be amazed. i never use my wipers in the summer. no need to.

Tried Rain-X and was not impressed. Yes the rain blows off, and no need to use the wipers, but going to work in the dark mornings, the windshield had a blinding haze to it, when on coming car lights approached. Just my experience with it.

            Re: waxing windows

sounds like the window might have a buildup of film or something on it.

why is it hazing if its clean. i've never had a problem and i leave my house at 4:30am and i can see perfectly clear?

Sounds like you are on the road early like me.

I don't know what the problem was, it was a year or so ago I used it. Once I cleaned it off, the problem went away. Maybe there was grime on the windshield before I applied the Rain- X, but I thought I cleaned it well.
Maybe I will try it on the new vehicle..I think I may have some of it left.

yeah man up early. it ***** in the winter because its so dark. but its life.

anyways, i know with Rain X you really need to be sure you get all of the product off. i mean one time i thought i got all of it but i didn't notice i left a lot on till i starting driving. turned around and went to clean it.

i use a MF to clean it off and apply some passion. then take it into sunlight and look at it from different angles and then use the other side of the MF for a final wipe.

but a trick i learned when cleaning my windows. when i wash the front i really scrub and the trick is possible, i turn on the wipers and clean the window with the wipers moving at a slow to medium pace. it helps me and i like it. feel it cleans the window better as the wipers press the soap along on their path way.

Rain-X will leave a haze behind if you don't make sure that you have wiped off the entire product after it has dried. My drive into work has me going US-101 for about 2+ miles with the sun directly in front of me and no haze issues. Make sure that your windows are absolutely clean first and that the outside temperature is warm enough to apply the product and you should not have any issues.
