    Re: Abrasives in #21

I have a 2007 Black Lexus....I have some fine scratches and swirls, right now im working with one of those store bought orbitals since I have a bad back...I have ColorX, Werkstatt's Prime Acrylic, Optimium Poli Seal, #21, NXT Liquid, Werstatt's Acrylic Jett Trigger and Optimum Car Wax...Just want my car to look its best but because of my bad back it limits me....

ColorX is a great one step product, topped with #21 it looks really fantastic.

A store bought orbital might not be perfect, but it could do as well as by hand I suppose to make it easier for you. What sort of pads were you able to buy to use with it to apply products?

May I ask: What is the difference between #20 and #21 in functionality?

#21 is a true sealant with no significant cleaning properties. #20 has mild cleaners in it and offers slightly more correction ability than #21. #20 is, like #21, a synthetic and gives stunning results. I do not believe it is layerable though because of it's cleaners. #20 does have a reputation of great durability.

Ah. Thanks, Steve. That clears it up. So much to learn...

That's a very good way of describing the product,

21 is a true sealant with no significant cleaning properties.

M20 is a paint sealant but is also a blended wax in that it does contain some Carnauba as well as a blend of other ingredients, (a blended wax or blended paint sealant). M21 and NXT are different from all of the other waxes or paint sealants in the Meguiar's line in that neither of these two products contain any natural protection ingredients, the protection ingredients in both of these products are man-made, or synthetic.

M20 is layerable to the degree that like any wax or paint sealant, 2 thin coats insure, uniform coverage i.e. uniform protection, by this we mean a second application will insure each square inch has a coating of wax and if you do the job right with both applications then the coverage is uniform in thickness, or thinness might be a better descriptive word as the layer of any waxy you apply is measured in microns.
