  • BMW 325 - ColorX, NXT

Today the weather was good so I was able to try out Meg's waxes for the first time. This is only the 2nd time I ever did my own detailing. The first time was 2 weeks ago with another brand.

After putting on ColorX the finish looked great! Definitely a nice product. I know it gets good reviews but it looked better than I exptected. I will use it next weekend on my wife's car.

Next I applied the NXT and the wet and deep look just exploded off of my car! An awesome combo indeed. I like the way it darkened the color. Also, I really like the even coat applicator. It does what it claims and it cut my time almost in half and it's good for a lot of hard-to-cover-easily spots on my car.

Here are some before and after shots. Sorry that they are not the best photos. I couldn't quite catch the wetness and the reflections. As you all probably know, it looks much better in person.

Thanks to everybody for all the help and knowledge I got on this forum. I hope to go to a class when Meg's comes to San Diego next time.

            Thanks.
What do you think would be a good wax to top NXT with? I would like something that wouldn't take off the NXT.

That looks great. Which BMW red is that? Mine is listed as Japan Red and I would love mine to look as good as that.

Yea, good idea. I will go to the Jan 6th class. My wife is from Japan and she can tour the city while I get some schooling from Mike. Looking forward to that.

I've had the car for 1 month now. It's a 2003 BMW 325i. The color is called "Electric Red". Since I got the car I would always look at it and think "that's
kind of a strange red. oxidation maybe?". I was working in the shade and didn't have to chance to look at the car as I was just concentrating on during everything correctly and when I finished I pulled the car into the sun, took a 10 minute break inside, came back out and said "What the??? Wow! Red!!".

Washing, wheels, drying, protectant on trim, colorx, nxt, exterior windows, two 10 minute breaks, a little finishing touch up (wax in cracks, trim cleanup etc.) took 4 hours. The ColorX and NXT phase took about an hour. Not bad at all. Big ups to the even coat app. I could have done it quicker but I took my time and was real careful about not missing spots and not getting the wax on the trim. Also I'm sure I did at least one panel more than once because I couldn't remember if I had done that area already or not.

I'm certainly enjoying the turning heads my car gets everywhere I go. Thanks Meguiar's.

Wow... that came out real nice! That's exactly what I want my red car to look like! I get my PC next Saturday and I'll be at the class as well. I can't wait!!
