Don't think of it so much as "buffing" as simply "removing" the hazed excess wax. And you are correct; you let a wax dry and THEN remove the excess. But letting it dry usually means 15-20 minutes, not 15-20 HOURS!
No, my earlier post reads as follows:
This means apply a coat, wait 15-20 minutes and remove, then wait 12 hours and apply a second coat, wait 15-20 minutes and remove.
Mike Phillips made a great suggestion about you attending a Saturday class at Meguiar's. I've been to several of these and have learned a ton of invaluable information, and continue to pick up new tips and learn new things with every session. If you are anywhere at all nearby I really think you'd enjoy attending and I know you'd learn a lot. It's a great experience.
