  • Make my red POP !

I have a 2006 red VW GTI and while it shines, I would like it to POP! The pictures from the "Pre-Holiday Fun Class!" shows off a trunk lid Miata where you "could scan the barcode in the overhead fluorescent lights!" I would like my GTI to look that way but sanding my scares me. Is there combination of products that will get me close or is sanding the only way?

Let’s assume that I sand, did you sand through the clear coat into the base coat or is the orange peal mostly in the clear coat, and then how do you keep that way after you’re done?

My GTI has a sealant and tow coats of NXT on top of the clear coat so if I elect not to sand what would be your recommendation for products to remove as much of the orange peal as I can and still keep my clear coat intact?

What I want to eliminate or reduce as mush as I can

I assume that the source of the orange peal is in the base coat which would mean taking off the entire clear coat, sand until POP is achieved, and then apply a new clear coat. A very major effort to say the least, and something that I may want to have professionally done.

Yes I’m a whimp when it comes to sanding my car, and I’ll just have to live with that. However, if my assumption is incorrect and all I have to do is sand my clear coat that makes it just a little better but not much.
