  • Attention any moderator HELP!!!

I need the following threads deleated concerning a detail I did on a 2003 Corvette. The bodyshop who has painted the car is threating to sue the owner. He has asked me to delete any pictures of the car from the website.

Time is of the urgency, thanks...

Thanks Mike, I was considering calling your cellphone but I know its still early on the westcoast. I appericate your help.

To anwser the above question, I spent twenty plus hours correcting the body shops mistakes (overspray, runs, and orange peel). This is a high end body shop that obviously feels these pictures and descriptions threaten thier reputation. They have seen the pictures on this site have threaten legal action vs. the owner. As such, to protect the owner of the vehicle from people whom it seems would rather threaten to sue vs. fix thier work, it is better to let this one die.

It is unfortunate that the owner has over 150,000 dollars in modifications and has an absolutley gorgoues car that cannot be shown on the internet at this time. I will not say anymore on this other than this is mostly my opinion.

        Thanks again.

The body shop did some bad work, TH0001 fixed it and has posted before and afters, and now they are threatening to sue the owner? What did I miss? Do they think they have the right to pictures of the car? IMO, they need to wake up - it's 2006, if you do bad work it's very likely to end up on the internet.

What they should have done is admitted the screw-up, and offered some kind of compensation to the owner, since it "not being up to their standards" or something like that. That would have shown some class, and that they were truly a "high end" shop. Instead they are now trying to hide it.. Well, good luck trying to hide something on the internet

Thats what I was kinda thinking. How can they sue the owner of the car for something you did? He can't be held responsible for your actions.

And I never even saw where you posted the actual name of the shop.

I dont think they could sue you or the owner, but Im not lawyer.

Whats sad is that now you can't take pride in the great work you did by sharing it with others.

                  you do very nice work!!
I have been escorted off of body shop lots and have been to court over things like this! it is a shame that a body shop, who is being paid out of pocket i might add!, would be so ashamed of they're work that they would take this course!!
again, the photo that i saw is not from a high end shop, but a shop that just wanted to maximize profits! that *****!
your work that i saw was great and you should be proud!!

There is NO legal reason that the pictures of the car cannot be posted by the owner....or you. But if the name of the shop is included in the post, he has the RIGHT to sue. People can sue for just about anything. It doesn't mean the shop owner is going to win his case though. Hmmmm, I don't recall ever seeing the name of the shop either.

??? Pics of the car can be posted. They are property of the owner, not the body shop.

I purposely did not include the name of shop, nor other defects in the post (I only covered about 50 percent of them).

The car will be at the Ecklers Corvette Show this weekend, so lets all wish it luck.

Also, I have not been contacted by the shop nor the shops lawyer, but I really don't want to get involved. The owner called me laughing about this, but its his car, and if he doesn't want the pictures of it up at this time, I have no choice.

Agreed, but not with out the owners permission. So not at this time.
