    Re: Cats on my hood!!

It seems by the replies, that I'm not the only one having this problem.

But just an update: I bought a trap, can of cat food, caught the sucker last night and relocated it this morning. I hope those movies like milo and otis are not true,,,,I'd hate to see this cat back with a vengence!!

Thanks for all the replies (and fun)

I immediately thought car cover too when I read the first post, but I think the trap and off to the pound is the better alternative, then you dont have to bother putting a cover on it every time you park it which would be a pain. If you live in an apartment/townhouse complex, I would post a sign that says "unleashed and stray cats in this area will be captured and delivered to the pound, effective as of xx/xx/xx". This will give the owner a chance to keep there cats inside at night or at least let them know what has happened to their cat if it doesnt show up for a few days.

It's funny, because when I stepped off the porch this morning to go check the trap,,,I smelled skunk,,,,and then I thought,,,,,,,Oh S$$t what would I do if in fact it was a skunk!

I'm located in a very woodsy type area where people don't care that their pets are a nuisance and do damage. About two years ago, a neighbors do was on my porch one morning with his head eaten through a big garbage bag. My son rushed and got the bb rifle. It took about two seconds after the bb hit, and that dog resembled and sounded like a fire truck on it's way to a blazing fire! Never came back though.

Harming an animal is usually the furthest thing from my mind,,,,,,,although in the heat of the moment, it's usually the first. (haha)

Sure, they might be doing a little bit of damage, but they also might be someones cherished pet - and they can't help it if their cats are just doing what comes natural.
Sure, I am a cat lover - but I can't be the only one cringing when reading this thread. If they are just strays in the neighborhood that's different, but maybe try talking to the owners???
Would you rather polish out a couple little scuffs or break a little girls heart for taking fluffy to the pound? Just something to think about, don't take it the wrong way. I feel your pain for sure, but I still wanted to be heard on this issue.
Good luck with getting it all sorted out.
that crossed my mind too, however the owners are showing they are eather careless, in which case they will take little regard in there neighbor's truck's paint, or they dont care about the anamal, in which case they wont pay the pound fee and pick the cat up. If they do pay the fee I bet they'll take better care to not let the cat wander around outside.

You are absolutely right! I know for a fact though that this and one other cat are strays. I have dogs....and yes we love them,,,,that is why the first thing I did was erect a fence and gave them a BIG yard to stay in all day.

An animal is not to blame for doing what comes natural, but there are boundaries that both people and animals must adhere to.

Here's a good one? The genius across the road from us has a small (and cute) little black dog,,,kind of like a shitsu. Lets her roam the road all day,,,then when he can't find her,,,,,,he goes nuts and starts a search party. About a month ago, someone in his driveway (one of his guests or even him) backed a vehicle over the poor thing. It wound up loosing a leg.

I was thinking car cover also. That is just me, seems logical enough.
