  • Cats on my hood!!

    Hi All,

I'm usually good at coming up with solutions,,,but this is an issue that I'm quite upset about as well as not having a solution. Just as I was about to pull out of the driveway this morning, I noticed a couple of patches of dirt on my hood,,,,close to the wiper. I have an '06 F150, Black of course. I quickly got out and inspected,,,only to see some gritty dirt as well as a couple of cat paw prints. The car crazy fool that I am, I rush to work (my own business) and start washing this morning at 8am. After rough inspection (it's now 10:30),,,a few hairline scratches visible in crappy lighting,,,,but I know I'll be finding more and buffing later.

I pretty much know what to do about the scratches,,,,,,my question is this,,,,,does anyone have any idea, whether it be crazy or logical about keeping the cats or any other animals off the vehicles to begin with?? (No need to mention the obvious terminating them)

    Thanks for your input.....

Keep the hood waxed good so they slide right off.

Yep,,,,,,,,I called our local TSC (Tractor Supply Company) and they have the feral cat traps,,,about $40. After work I'll be picking one up,,,,and some cat food. The $40 is negligible in comparison to the peace of mind and lack of scratches.

I don't think I want to use a repellent spray on the paint,,,,although around the truck (grounds) it may help.

                I think a .22 would work.
It's only weird because it's not normal

He's talking about house cats, not mountain lions.

I think a .177 pellet rifle would cut it nicely.

Well, I will probably get flamed for this - but if it was me I wouldn't trap the cats and take them away.
Sure, they might be doing a little bit of damage, but they also might be someones cherished pet - and they can't help it if their cats are just doing what comes natural.
Sure, I am a cat lover - but I can't be the only one cringing when reading this thread. If they are just strays in the neighborhood that's different, but maybe try talking to the owners???
Would you rather polish out a couple little scuffs or break a little girls heart for taking fluffy to the pound? Just something to think about, don't take it the wrong way. I feel your pain for sure, but I still wanted to be heard on this issue.
Good luck with getting it all sorted out.

Obviously, you've never been to Wyoming.

Gee, a detailer who doesn't mind cat damage....

                              Isn't that good for business?
