Ok Folks, here's the scoop:
Black 2001 Honda Accord
Severe Acid Rain Pitting
Spiderwebs
Some surface spot staining
Yesterday's 11 hour adventure consisted of the following with #83, Deep Crystal and wax applied with a DA:
Wash twice-Gold Class
Clay
#83-8006 Pad #1
Deep Crystal Polish-8006 Pad #2(see below)
Gold Class Wax-9006 Pad
Results:
Surface still pitted, but I suspect nothing short of wet sanding will remove them. Way beyond my capability and knowledge!!
Spiderwebs alive and well.
Most staining was removed.
This was my first attempt with #83 and I'm sure the results are 100% attributable to operator error. I attempted to apply it "by the book" working a 2'x2' area for about 3-4 minutes until it hazed over. Once wiped clean, there was a noticable haze (micro scratches??) left behind which I could not clean off. Hence the Deep Crystal Polish which seemed to eliminate (mask?) the haze.
So, several questions for those far more knowledgable and experienced than I:
Should I have done a post clay wash?
Should the #83 be followed by #80 or a another wash before waxing?
Thoughts on the post #83 "hazing" which I experienced.
If it was micro scratches, did the Deep Crystal merely fill in the scratches and not solve the problem?
Why did the spiderwebs survive?
At 56 years old, I'm not anxious to try this again today LOL, but your thoughts will be sincerely appreciated and applied!! TIA
