Reading the descriptions they both list as cleaner/polishes with the same uses. I have read the difference in pure polishes and cleaner/polishes but this one is confusing. Please enlighten me guys as to their differences.

#9 features larger diminishing abrasives that break down faster because it was formulated for single stage and older style paint systems.
#82 features smaller, more frequent, and longer lasting abrasives that break down slower because it was formulated for dual stage, basecoat/clearcoat systems.
Even though #9 is more abrasive initially (the difference is very small) its cut time is less, thus giving it about the same total cut as #82.
Now what does that mean to me personally? Nothing, because I have used both, by PC and rotary and noticed very small differences. #9 seemed a little more mild, but this is probably do to the different paints I was using them on.Let's make all of the cars shiny!Comment
