    • i do alot of black cars, everyting from bently gt to pickups.i had a problem of trying to remove 21 to fast and was getting streaks or what was left over residue. once i started letting 21 dry longer along with making sure i shook it very well as mike stated ,several times during the process, i do not have a problem.
now i did notice toward the end of the bottle i'll start to get separation but shaking takes care of it. but working seven days a week i use alot! i think i'll go to the smaller bottle next time

      • I put on a coat of GC on Monday and it didn't buff off quite as easily as NXT does (when at it's best that is) but GC didn't smear at all, and didn't leave behind any streaking at all.

I now am trying to decide if I should keep using GC or if I should go with #26. Which of those two is better at hiding swirls? Are either of them as good as NXT at hiding swirls? What are the main differences between GC and #26? Which of them is best to be used on a daily driven black car like mine?

Gold Class looks great, but does not last as long as #26. IMHO #26 looks just as good. I would use #20 Polymer Sealant topped with #26 on a black car. I tried that on my TA and it looked great! Gold Class will look great too, but you will have less protection with it. There is no way it will last through a Canadian winter. You will also find the #20 and #26 to be easier to work with in cold temps.

In cold weather I don't do my own waxing though, I get a detail shop to put on a coat of #26 for me about every 4-6 weeks.

I guess the best thing for me to do is try out GC for a little while and then try out #26 for a little while and see the comparison first hand.

            • same here...

I am having streaking issues with NXT liquid on white and black paint.

I now mist my towel with some water and then wipe off NXT (as posted by Mike Pennington of wiping off with a damp microfiber).

This has greatly reduced the streaks( some remaining streaks require a bit more strength in removing) but not sure if it removed some wax as well...

              • Someone on another message board suggested that streaking might be a result of not thoroughly shaking the product whenever you're using it, and as the product gets used up, the mixture is different towards the end of the bottle. Does this make sense? This could explain why my NXT worked out so well for me for the first 2/3rds of the bottle but has been giving me trouble now. I do shake the bottle before using it, but perhaps I need to be more vigorous and shake it for a minute or two first? (I thought I had been shaking it good, but I usually only shake the bottle for maybe 5 or 10 seconds before using it, maybe this isn't long enough?)

That is probably not long enough to shake it. 60 seconds is what I do.

I could see where the mixture would be different toward the end of the bottle if it had not been shaken vigorously when it was used before.

Wiping the finish with a damp micofiber would seem to me to be counterproductive if the sealant hasn't cured. Wouldn't that remove some of the wax or sealant? After all you are not supposed to let a freshly applied sealant get wet until it is cured.

                  • Since I have gotten a pretty good life out of this bottle so far (17 coats) and even though I know there are at least 7 or 8 more coats worth in it, I've decided to just buy a brand new bottle of NXT tomorrow and put a fresh coat of it on my car on Sunday morning. From now on I'll make sure to shake the bottle like crazy everytime I use it. Shake it like a Polaroid picture!!

Update! I bought a fresh bottle of NXT last Saturday and put a coat of it on my Corvette on Sunday morning. It worked out perfectly! Not a hint of smearing, and no streaking whatsoever. It buffed off so nicely, even though it was a bit cool out (mid to high 50s) and a bit humid too (about 60-70%). So I'm in love with NXT once again!

OK, I have a new 2008 300C SRT black car. I've waxed it about 3 times (nxt 2.0 liquid) and each time the blotches appeared. I even waited a full day before I tried wiping it off because of the dry/curing issue...well that did not seem to work either. I contacted customer service and they did not want to or eager enough to guarantee product with another meguire's product because of me residing in Canada there was a territory issue or something like that.

Today, I waxed (nxt 2.0) my neighbors new 2007 navy blue Cadillac and wiped it off in 10 minutes without blotches. My guess is on less dark colors the blotches are more difficult to spot. I also tries the NANO wax and so far absolutely no blotches on my black car.

Try using some UQD on the paint after the NXT has had a chance to cure. I find that the UQD helps with any streaking issues, at least with #21 (1.0).

I have used the NXT 2.0 Paste and it is streak free for me regardless of temp and humidity. The 1.0 Paste didn't streak at all for me either, whereas I did have some streaking issues with the 1.0 liquid as the bottle aged.

I assume that you gave your car a good wash before applying wax, did you run over anything that is oily or greasy? Could just be a bad bottle, but I use NXT 1.0 two bottles and on my first 2.0 bottle and never experienced the blotches, Try to clay a surface such as the hood or whatever you like then apply a thin coat, too much will cause the blotches then do a final wipe My first tries with wax and too much meant more work. If you haven't done the above, give 'er a whirl.
