I would suggest first Claying the paint to remove any bonded contaminents. Then I would evaluate. If you have swirls and marring, (from going through car washes, it will have) I would use Meguiar's ScratchX. This will give you a real arm workout! I have provided links below on the proper application method for ScratchX. Follow this with ColorX and then top with 2 coats of NXT Tech Wax.
Now with that said, black is a difficult color to deal with. But it does look awesome when it is totally prepped!
In the future, I would strongly encourage you to look at buying a G100 DA Polisher. Using it with the correct pads and products will do a superior job overall and will save your arms!
