Meguiars # 16 Wax

my attempt in putting on a coat of #16.
It really goes on easy.
I think I probably could have put on a second coat.
also, the picture is taken 2 days later without any QD or touch up.

People have mentioned that Hyper-Dressing evens out very nicely, though I havent used it, and it wont last as long as All-Season Dressing.

I just applied the ASD to plastic trim... I applied it, let it sit, then wiped off excess with an old MF cloth. ASD seemed to even out nicely for me.

I am waiting to see how the next wash turns out, esp after all this sloppy weather, and how it holds up.

Why not use Hi-Tech #26 as an alternative?

Is there really any difference between 2 Meguiar's Carnuaba Paste Waxes?

Otehr than VOC content?

Just currious if #26 is a good alternative or not.

Different look, different beading characteristics, somewhat different durability.

The #26 is more likely to deepen/darken/enrich the look wheareas the #16 tneds to give a "clearer"/"brighter" look. Sometimes (and to some people) any differences are subtle to the point of being indiscernable.

IMO #16 beads better/tighter and the beads are more likely to roll off the vehicle.

#16 always lasted longer for me.

But I'm no expert on #26. I preferred #16 so much that 99% of my Meguiar's LSP experience is with that product.

Well my local supply house still has some so I picked up a can to try and see how I liked it. I have been leaning more toards liquids vs paste waxes of late.

There are a few things I am going to start playing with as LSP's.

BTW - if there a shelf life for these products ?

#16 won't go bad if you keep the tin closed tightly and avoid temperature extremes. I'm finishing a can I opened in the early-mid '90s and I've stockpiled enough to last the rest of my life (and I plan on being around for a while ).

IMO #16 is less "bright"/"reflective" but lasts longer. Discussing the appearance diffs between these products is really splitting hairs and is eye-of-the-beholder stuff anyhow.

Yeah, that's how I do it too, it's a great method. I usually put it on *and* buff it off by machine, with just a quick by-hand follow up.

How do you get the wax on the pad ?...do you scoop it out and spread it on the pad by hand/spatula ??...curious as to how you do that...thanks..
