I did use Speed 5 with the colorX on a w8006 pad. At speed 5, I could really tell the difference it made as it worked in the diminishing abraisives. My client said he was now proud to drive his Acura again. Hopefully, he'll give me some repeat business over the spring. His finish could use a claying and some more cleaning.

          Hey,

I am glad everything worked out!!!

As I said earlier in the thread, ColorX works very well when used as a cleaner with the PC set to speed 5. It allows the diminishing abrasives to break down properly, leaving a deep, rich finish!

Since ColorX is a strong cleaner with diminishing abrasives, is there a limit how often it should be used? Could ColorX be used as your LSP and applied every six to eight weeks?

              Hey,

Just to clarify...ColorX is not very aggressive compared to a true compound/cleaner product. If you compare ColorX to a cleaner wax all-in-one product, then yes, it is a little more aggressive. So, in other words, I would not be afraid to use ColorX once a month.

cool, now i wont be afraid to use it monthly

how about using it as an LSP, like 305Cummins said. is this a good product to use as an LSP and provide good protection for about a month?

Yes, ColorX is a great LSP (Last Step Product) that has a long lasting polymer to protect the paint!

                      Hey Marty,

The LSP (Last Step Product) is your final coats of wax or sealant after all of the other polishing steps etc have been completed.

For the sake of conversation would it be a safe assumption that #66 would be a stronger cleaner wax compared to Color X when used with a PC and 8006 pad?

                            Hi George,

Yes, #66 is a little more aggressive than ColorX.

Thank's for the quick response..would it also be safe to say #66 would be a stronger cleaner than Speed Glaze? When used with a PC and W-8006?

                                Hi George,

That is a tougher comparison as they are very similar in cut, but I have found that M80 will work a little better with the PC when compared to #66. With the rotary, the results are very similar. The M80 tends to leave a deeper, more rich looking finish. M66 tends to leave a brighter, more clear looking finish. It all depends on the look you are after.

I like using M66 with the rotary, topped with #20 Polymer Sealant. This combo gives a crisp, clear look on lighter colors!

But, one of my personal favorite combos is M80 with the rotary, #82 with the PC, topped with #21. This combo looks awesome on darker colors!!
