Looking through the Porter Cable catalog, I came across two products that are similar, what I want, but I'm not sure which one is the one I really want to get, you know what I mean? Anyway...
There is your regular 7336 model, Variable-Speed Random-Orbit Sander (6")
-includes features and benefits as Model 97366 (Variable-Speed random-orbit Sander, 6" with dust collection) excluding dust collection and carrying case.
Then, I flipped over a few pages, and I saw this:
7336SP Variable-Speed Random-Orbit Sander (6") with Polishing Pad
-3.7Amp, AC only
-Electronic variable-speed dial 2500-6000 OPM
-Random, swirl-free sanding action
-spiral/bevel gears
-100% ball bearings
-standard equip: Sander, polishing pad #54745, sanding discs, wrench #48779, side handle, and operating manual.
I am pretty sure the 7336SP model is what I am supposed to get. I just want to detail some cars, that kind of thing. I was told that the pad that comes with the 7336SP model, is just **** and to toss it. The SP model seems like more of what I am aiming for. Is it?
I am still going to buy separate W0086 and W0096 pads as well, probably from over the phone. I went to Home Depot yesterday to try to get a price on both PC models, and to possibly place an order, but the PC company was closed, so the HD man will get back to me on monday with the price.
I'm just asking, which model do I want to get, to start out detailing. I want to get something good, that won't **** out on me. I want to do this right.
Thanks,,
