Last night was the busiest TNOG we've had in a while - hectic but great fun with plenty of interesting projects and lots of people eager to learn. Just what these nights are supposed to be about!
This 4Runner gets used off road on a regular basis by it's owner, Mike, and other than some light swirls and a few scratches from encounters with the local flora, it was in pretty decent shape. We knew it could be in better shape though, so we did a couple of test spots and got Mike comfortable with the DA buffer.

The tops of the headlights were definitely in need of a little clean up, but these were easily reached with the buffer while doing the hood. This is before:

This is the same lens after just a quick run over with Ultimate Compound on a yellow polishing pad with the G110v2.

Off roaders and sports cars sharing the same space - we're an equal opportunity paint polishing place!

The paint on this MINI is looking a bit, um.....yeah. This is not good.

A quick test spot with UC and yellow foam....

....and we got this:

Not bad for a first go, but some deeper marks were left behind and we opted for the DA Microfiber System for faster removal of severe defects. Of course we had to get Ed comfortable with the system because this isn't his car - it's his mom's!

This is how the looked when finished, and now Ed has the skill set to bring the rest of the MINI to this same level.

White Wax on a DA.....what are we up to?

Claude rolled his truck into the garage for a quick freshening. Looks pretty shiny all ready, so why the White Wax?

See how much whiter and brighter the left side is, and how much darker the right side is? That darkness is due to dirt embedded in the paint, and White Wax cleaned it up beautifully and revealed the true whiteness of the paint. One step. Done.

Overspill into the parking lot as the sun goes down.

Reflecting the parking lot lights and the crescent moon in the hood of an Acura NSX. In this light you can't see all the swirls, but they are there, trust us.

Geez, we need to clean this mess up!

But first, another car to cycle through the garage!

Putting the DA Microfiber System to use once more. This is a 25 year old Imron respray on this mid '80s Corvette, and there are issues with some shrinkage in the primer that detract from the appearance and, unfortunately, nothing can be done to help that short of a repaint. But after a quarter century that Imron was starting to look a bit hazy, and that's where the DAMF System really showed its stuff. The improvement in clarity was striking, and the swirls were removed with ease.
