Members gathered in the lounge waiting for presentation to be started.

Kevin gave brief introduction on simple car care theory.

As a business partner, we invited John of Glasurit to educate us on paint finishing.

After the presentation and tea break, we chose a car with tonnes of swirls for live demonstration on consumer products.

This is the initial finish condition. Cob-webbing!

The finish was rough to touch. Firstly we cleaned up the bonnet with Speed Detailer then proceed with clay.

Being the most useful tool in our tool bucket, Scratch-X was chosen to be applied by hand.

Next, it was followed up with NXT Tech Wax.

Immediately we could see the improvement in gloss on the right side, as compared to left side which was untouched.

Majority of the swirls are removed...by hand.

        Looks good!

Here comes the rewarding part...Lucky draw session (as usual)!

Matthew and Kevin can't wait to give away generously.

Another bunch of happy and lucky Jazz owners.

In each detailing clinic Hypercoat organises for car clubs, there will be a member's car selected as show car. The job scope will involve intensive paint preparation.

            1. Dry sanding
            2. M85/W-4000/RB
            3. M83/W-8000/RB
            4. M80/W-8000/RB
            5. M82/W-8006/DA
            6. M21/W-9006/DA (overnight)
            7. M21/W-9006/DA

The pic below shows what is being used for paint preparation.

As for engine detailing, we washed down with Super Degreaser and dressed it with Hyper Dressing.

            After

            Closer inspection.

            Meaning of detailing.

This car was prepped 48 hours before the event was held. And this is the result of the car after all the surface prep and first layer of M21 application.

Result of 2nd layer of M21 after 12 hours of cure time.

              Literally shining

              Cloudy day

Paint is wet! Do not touch!

Sunglasses were compulsary at that time.

Ladies will love this for make-up.

While the clinic was going on, we had a small tutorial on rotary buffer handling on the other side.

The guru, William, showed me how to buff using M85/W-4000.

Later Matthew realised that I was practicing on his car with M85.

It was a great event overall and thanks to all the support from JFFC members. Special thanks to Hypercoat, Toyoink (Glasurit Distributor) and AutoDetailer.

Hey! Where can we get one of those!??!! I want one!

BTW Zey! Looking good, it looks like you always have a great time at those detailing clases!
Those are the best Honda Fit I've ever seen! We have plenty of those here, as well as the Hyundai you have, altough I must admit they don't look as good as yours!

Hey MandarinaRacing, thanks for your kind words! I enjoy participating in these sort of events over the weekend. My ride is the poorest among the Jazz/Fit crowd...99.9% stock condition. Haha.

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

Paulvr4, we have temperature between 80F to 100F, it's quite hard to buff the car often. Polishes tend to gum up easily.
