After the Power Point Presentation and Questions & Answers portion that follows, it was time to do a Walk-By and evaluate the condition of the finish and discuss the owners car care maintenance program for each of the cars brought by members of G35Driver.com
After looking at everyone's cars, we chose Vick's black Infiniti G35 because of the horrendous buffer swirls in the finish and Ed's Skyline because of the cobweb swirls and overall dull and hazy appearance.

In the below pictures you can see buffer swirls instilled by the improper use of a rotary buffer that are also referred to as holograms.
Here's a close-up of the area the sun was highlighting, (although the swirls were everywhere in the finsih)
And here's an original section I cropped out of the original photo. This below photo has not been resized or re-touched in any way.
The number one consumer complaint about automotive finishes is Swirls. Nothing distracts from the beauty of a clear coat finish like unsightly swirls. Because the type of swirls instilled by a rotary buffer often require a machine applied professional product to remove, we're going to use Vick's car to demonstrate how to use the G-100 and a few products from Meguiar's Professional Line.

In the shade, the finish on this Skyline looked pretty good...
After the sun poked it's head out and we moved the car in front of the Training Garage, we could all get a better look at the true condition of the finish on Ed's Skyline...

After wiping the cars down with Meguiar's' Quik Detailer to remove light dust and contaminants, we felt the paint to inspect for bonded contaminants and while neither car was too bad, they both had some light accumulation of bonded contaminants so we proceeded to clay their finishes using Meguiar's Quik Clay System.

As I taped-off the hood on Ed's Skyline, Ed and friend discuss two areas that appear to have been etched by something, possibly a bird dropping.
After taping off one half of the hood, we applied three well worked-in applications of ScratchX, followed by one application of Deep Crystal Polish, and then one application of NXT Tech Wax.
For a brand new pad, apply a dollop of Tech Wax about the size of a quarter to the face of the applicator pad.
Then spread the wax out over the finish and work it in gently leaving behind a thin film.
This was what we accomplished with our hands, next we'll pull the car back in and go over the same area with the G-100 and see what we can do by machine.
Next up...
While Ed and his friends work with the G-100 on Ed's Skyline, we polished out one half of Vick's G35 and have been letting the wax dry... next we'll take a look at his process and the results...

After seeing what could be accomplished using ScratchX, Deep Crystal Polish and NXT Tech Wax by hand, Ed tried his hand at machine polishing using Meguiar's G-100 with some Speed Glaze on a W-8006 foam polishing pad on the 4.5 setting.
After polishing one half of the hood with the Speed Glaze, Ed then applied a thin coat of Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax using a W-9006 foam finishing pad and allowed it to dry for approximately 15 minutes.
After the Tech Wax had dried, he then removed the it using the G-100 set on the 5.0 setting with a Meguiar's microfiber Ultimate Bonnet, which was placed over a clean, dry W-8006 foam polishing pad.

Going to hijack this thread for a moment. I have a question for any of you Nissan people or people who are knowledgeable in Asian imports. Is this some kind of new skyline? I have seen a few in the past and they look nothing like this
Also in this picture above, Skyline appears to be written on the back trunk. Is this a new model or is it just a badged G35?
