I learned quite a bit on Saturday. I learned that detailing your car to perfection takes time. I also learned that I was doing things all wrong on my own. And finally, I learned that with the time involved and for me to buy the proper equipment to do the job right, I'm better paying someone like my good friend Jesse to do my truck. Later on when I got home, I learned that the car wash that I frequent uses Meguiars stuff exclusively. I had some scratches on the bed of my truck the dealer put in when they gave me a "complimentary" wash after I told them NOT to. The guy at my car wash said he could get them out and charged me only $10. And what does the guy whip out to attack my truck? #80, haha! 20 minutes later and you couldn't even tell there were any scratches there, the paint in that area is sooo much clearer now! It's a tough decision man, now I want my truck done up right, should I pay Jesse or my local car wash

I say pay someone like Jesse. I think he's pretty good.
I persoanlly recommend Jesse. He detailed a 92 Honda Prelude with single stage white paint. The outcome came out excellent with the amount of cobwebbing and scratches it had on it.
Local car wash that uses all Meguiars products does not always mean the quality is job one. I took a car to a local car wash that uses Meguiars line and the wash job process was horrible. They spend about 45 seconds washing the entire car. The front and rear bumper was missed and soap trail over portions of the car as they are drying the car. The towels used to clean the window was also used to dry the paint and the wheel. Detailing is 80% technique.
I am not saying all car wash places are trained this way, but you really have to wonder if the person washing it really applies his Meguiars skills.
The class was great.
I had been leery about claying my ride but after the class, my concerns were for nothing.
Now I feel confident to tackle it.
May even do the motorhome.
My thanks as well to Mequiars for showing us how to get great results.
Thank you Mike, and thank you Mike#2. Education is key to my business and since I am a 1 man crew my clients rely an trust in what I do. I knew all along that I was missing something in my polishing work, it's not that I am a pro detailer but to know what a pro detailer know's (Jesse) only enhances my finished product. If I am to paint only a few panels or some other project I now know I will get the same results Jeese, has proved to me I was not doing. I had him do a 2003 black Yukon and I knew I didn't have the tools or products to do it right and I have always said if you can do a black vehicle and you have the eye to spot out the defects and detailer her right! Your a true finish detailer. Jesse will still do all my complete details for my clients because I want every vehicle that comes out of my shop to look a certain way. Call it a signature look! Thanks Jesse for working with me.
Thanks Mike and Mike#2 and thanks Maguires for educating us and sharing your research.
I thought I pretty much knew how to detail my baby. I went mainly because it was a DTW GTG. I figured I would pick up a few tips, boy was I wrong. I learned so much!! Thanks Mike and Mike, the class was awesome!!!!!!
Thank you Mike and Mike for the great class. I sure learned a lot about detailing. Sure takes a lot of time and effort to do it right. I'll probably have Jesse do my truck instead. LOL
Both were very professional, taught the class very well, while making it very entertaining. Ive been to may shows, classes, and seminars; this was one of the best.
Thank You
