San Diego Mercedes-Benz Club - Pictures & Comments
Re: San Diego Mercedes-Benz Club - Pictures & Comments
Mike & Barry,
Many thanks. Actually got my first dose of car care passion from
Barry, heard him on "The Car Show" radio show about 12+ years ago. I was glued to the radio. Well, Mike sure has the passion and gave a first rate
class, enjoyed it very much and hope to attend the advanced class.
Meguiar's is on my SHORT LIST of companies that have earned my loyalty.
Re: San Diego Mercedes-Benz Club - Pictures & Comments
Barry, thanks for providing the facility; the donuts, pizza, and soft drinks; and the "goodie bag" of Meguiar's products for us to try. Oh yeah, thanks for providing Mike Philips also! All joking aside, Mike's probably forgotten more than I'll ever learn about car detailing. He's an excellent instructor, very knowledgeable but also able to transmit that knowledge to us so that we leave your facility with a much better understanding of how your products work and how to differentiate them so we use the correct one for the task at hand. This was the third Meguiar's session with the San Diego MBCA group for me, and I always leave with some real nuggets of information, tricks of the trade, etc. Thanks again, Barry!
You mentioned the grit guard. And that some people say that it floats. I called Grit Guard directly and they said that the ones that float are FAKE, Knock offs! He said they have filed 2 seperate cease and decist orders against high tech auto for infringing on their patent.

Mike,
During our detailing class, you mentioned the names of companies that offer products in removing scratches on the windshield due to overuse of worn out wipers. Please advise.
Perhaps in the future, Megs should consider offering this type of product as well...
Just a quick warning, working on glass is difficult as you do not want to create distortions in the glass. I would practice on something you do not care about before you tackle your vehicle.

Thanks. I hope it isn't complicated to do.
Is there any detailer out there that I can pay to have my car wash, waxed, and buffed the windshield from scratches? I normally wash and wax myself. But since the windshield requires extra attention, it's better to let a professional do it....
