  • Story of my life

I washed earlier today. I just got done QDing the finish & wheels. Dressed out the exterior plastic and rubber. Dressed the tires and wheel wells. All was looking pretty sharp. Got my goodies out to knock out the windows next. Man I was on a roll.

Wait a sec. What's that on the hood? Oh a drop of water. Phooey abother one. ****, it's raining.

Mental Note. Check cotton pickin' weather before starting next time.

        So am I, Jeff!

Just clayed, clean my paint, polished it and added 2 coats of waxes on it...next day, it rained and it has not stopped for since then... It has been raining over here for 3 straight days....

        Dammit!

One time when I was like 10 I decided to wash my dad's 1983 Peugeot 505 Diesel. The car was white...but like a filthy diesel white - and it started to rain...but when you are 10 you don't know what you are doing. So I figured - hey - it's rain - it's just like water...so I just kept washing - rinse the car off and went inside...

Another time I had washed the car in the rain and pulled her into the garage for the clay session and other things - but sometimes you can't help it. I know some detailers that still do it in the rain under a tent. I guess business is business.

Sorry to hear about the rain!

Its not about how it looks...its about the personal satisfaction from knowing you did a good job. Plus just think, when it stops raining, you can wash it again...bonus!

I have washed in the rain, its drying in the rain that *****.

I don't mind washing in the rain either. But it's a pain when you finish and get all detailed up and then the first drop hits.

Nope, was good there. Waxed earlier in the week. I was hoping to get mine squared away as a buddy is coming tomorrow with a '98 Mustange. We are going to Maryland Mustang clubs year end get together on Sat. He asked me if I could help him smear some shine on it.

Try living in Portland in the winter. If you know it's going to rain, you wash anyway because you know your rig will be cleaner than it was. I just pity those folks that live in areas where it gets COLD...below freezing for weeks on end.
