    Anybody in the Memphis/Jackson/Nashville area...

    Is there anybody in the Memphis/Jackson/Nashville TN area who owns a Dual Action Polisher/Orbital and would like to teach me how to use it?

    I plan on getting one soon to combat the swirls in my finish, and I would like to try one out before I buy.

    FWIW, Porter Cable has their plant in Jackson.

    Wonder if they have an outlet store there?

          Buddy, I gotta tell ya. I have 2 of these and love them. The learning curve does not center around the machine itself. It comes from the characteristics of each product used.

          I have never used a polisher im my life. THe G-100a was my first. Bought a couple of months ago. After several minutes of use it felt like it was natural to me. It's really a no brainer. But each product has it's own, unique qualities. Thats the thing to learn.

          But, if you can swing it, take my advice and just buy one, look through the boards for a few quick tips and go out and put some wax on. After you do it once you comfort level will improve by leaps and bounds. I loved mine so much I bought another.

            I am in Memphis and can certainly help you out with learning the cyclo, PC, or rotary. Just shoot me a PM and we can hook up one weekend. I am booked this weekend with details, perhaps you could meet me onsite, or we can do it another weekend that I am off.

            I also write an article for Southern Rides magazine every month, there was one a few months back about machine polishing, not sure what it would take to get your hands on a copy....I don't have one.
