  • Partial Meg's convert

One of my coworkers has a 2004 MB C230. He is a die hard Mothers user and won't put any of "that Meguiars ***" on his car. He had the factory rims of the car chromed and was asking me what a good product was to clean & polish them with.

I let him borrow my can of NXT All Metal Polysh, that was about a month ago and he commented on how "sweet" it worked...I still haven't gotten it back from him yet

That's kinda funny in it's own right since all of the car care products sold at a Mercedes benz dealership is made by Meguiars.

Certain things, it seems, always need ordered over the net or phone. Nxt Metal Polish, and Quick Clay being among the most common. Dont know why stores dont carry them more often...

I think the problem for most stores is that if they carried all of one company's products, such as Megs, they would have no room on the shelves for anyone else's products. Which for them wouldn't be profitable sine there aren't that many people that use ONLY Meguiars. To top it off, in order for a store to carry all the products from even JUST the major players in the detailing field, they would have to specialize in being a detailing supply ONLY store...there wouldn't be room for anything else.

                    Don, you're very right.

Competitive stores in competitive zones can't afford to keep excess inventory, so they do what seems to be strongest for them from each of the companies they choose to sell.

Many of the people ordering and working in parts don't know the specialties of the various products: a great number of people still say "wax is wax".
