Yeah!! Looks like they have not been around very long. Just got my curiousity up.The store
had no Megs . I have become a 100% Megs user. Finally weeded out all the other products. Can't wait to try out #16!
They're actually really good. I've used the compounds for a couple years. It's most like Meg's paint cleaners, it's very gritty. I can't comment on the rest of the line because I haven't used it.
I have some of their detailer, metal polish, and swirl remover. They were selling them at a show I went to up in MI and I had to try it. My opinion in general is that Meguiars is better stuff across the board and that better stuff can be had at a lower price. Here are my results:
Metal Polish - not impressed in the least
Detailer - Pretty good but I have seen better, it is like a spray and gloss product
Swirl Remover - have not tried yet
If anyone wants to try any of this, drop me a PM and we can work out something for some samples.
I live in Minnesota, which is where this brand comes from. I was at a local parts store today, browsing my typical next Meguiars purchase. But then I looked back at the Wizards section of the store. I wasn't necessarily awe inspired by their bottles or special rack, but I looked at the selection anyways. Noticed it was a Minnesota brand and felt that maybe I should support my local companies.
I came across the Wizards Shine Master which claims to be a Polish and Sealant, so I decided I would give it a try.
Applied a layer to my front fender and hood, but the pad I used just kept on soaking the stuff up. From the texture of the polish itself, I thought it was going to be a real dream to apply, but it seemed to lack the lubrication that I've grown accustomed to in Meguiars brand products.
My first layer was done by hand, so it wasn't perfectly applied, sort of caked on in spots and took a little passion to remove(nothing major, just a little). The second layer was applied with my DA, which went on thin and came off without the slightest of effort.
I drove the car out into the sun to examine my work. Not very impressed. it didn't look bad, but it just didn't live up to expectations.
I'm going to go out and drive around for a little bit, and try to catch it in different lights, see if maybe I just need to catch it in better light.
i went to a paint store that showed up when i searched megs distributors and they had completely switched over to this stuff. they literally had two bottles of megs
A friend of mine uses Shine Master a lot at his body shop.
Here's the reason he likes it.
