      Cheap Flights

Best to try Travelocity is your best bet but I also check orbitz.com and expedia.com

And then always double check at the specific airline website

another trick is to use the last minute travel packages on Travelocity.com, many times, like my recent trip to LA, I was able to book a single person ticket with a car far cheaper than if I just purchased a ticket for air only. Sometimes the price is so much lower, I'll take the car + air option and never bother to pick up the car.

If you need any specific help call me.

Going directly to an airline's website can also net you some good deals. Also, call the airline and ask if any promotional fares are available or soon will be

Best way and the least amount of jumping from airline to airline.

I have found that going directly to the airlines web page will yield the best price. I also use orbitz to find which airlines offer flights between the cities I want to travel... then go to the airlines website anyway.

I'm flying to Michigan to pick up my new car sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and the cheapest I found was right through United. It was $197 one way and Priceline was $215.....on the exact same flight. I'd rather deal with the airlines directly so there's less chance of a screw up.

Going to an airline's website is usually your best bet.

If you plan to fly out of LAX, you might want to look at the LAX web-page and see which of the slightly smaller carriers, like Spirit Airlines, flies into and out of LAX. You might find extremely cheap seats with them.

Another option is Cheap Tickets.com they might have some good deals there. Hotwire is another website that can offer good deals BUT, you will not know what airline you are travelling on, and the flights are usually the red eye.

                Good Luck!

Mike, the airlines usually have the best prices on their websites. Sometimes you can get really good deals.

The travel sites usually have similar prices, but you usually have to pay an additional fee, like $10 or so.

Advice: if you're shopping and waiting for a great deal, clear your "cookies" frequently. The site will put a cookie reminding it that it already quoted you a price. If you check back you might not get a lower price.

Amazon was doing this, selling books and CDs for different prices to different people based on their tracked preferences.
