Evidently my vehicle needs a paint job, I have spots on my hood that seems like its been eaten up by acid, no idea what it is. I still clean it I still do the whole 5 step Shebang, even though my paint needs a new paint job. I try to keep it in top condition. So I suppose Zaino products are steered towards consumers with good paint conditions? I would really want to get a full paint job, but the price of a full paint job kind hinders my intentions of getting one.

I think I know how to stereotype you!! The person who never goes anywhere unless the weather is pristine

3.5 years on the original GM blades? Wow.... Mine never last me past 6 months or so, due to all the rain and/or snow I get caught in throughout the year.

Now, back on topic -- I think it's perfectly OK to belong to multiple cults... and I most certainly do. As much as it is nice to just 'fall back on' a routine, I feel that switching up the products I'm using on my own personal vehicles from time to time, can be a great thing. That way I never get bored with keeping my own stuff shining.... plus using different techniques with different products helps me to hone my skills.

As for customers however, it always has been, and always will be, Meg's products 100% of the way (aside from a few special cases like the seldom-seen exotic to roll into my shop). I can't beat the price, predictable performance and results that I can get with these "well-known favorites," not to mention that when I tell my clients that I'm using Meguiar's, they instantly seem to become "at ease" due to the Meguiar's name being synonomous with quality.

Thats just all there is to it.

Well, it is very easy to fit into many different groups, and that is not a bad thing. Many people fit into many groups. I would even have to place myself into more than one group.

You definatly belong in the Enthusisasts group, but you are very likely to be more knowlegable than Joe the Enthusiast. At the same time, you belong to both the Zanio and the Meguiar's Groups, but are not afraid to try new things . In addition, you do not come across as a fanatic, nor do you preach the use of one product such as Zanio.

Over all, I would say you try new things, find what you like and use it. That puts you a knotch above some people who will not try something new or have an open mind.

All of the above being said, I can say I use Turtle Wax Power-Out Carpet Shampoo, Stoner Invisible Glass, RainX, Meguiar's almost everything, and also own some of the cheaper Zymol $15 cleaner wax. I don't know what group I fall into, but I have found that all Meguiar's Products work as intended without any surprizes. They are predictable. In adition, I do like the Zymol Cleaner Wax, but I am not a Zymol Fanatic. I will not spend $45 for a small 8 oz container of the expensive Zymol stuff, nor am I planning on going the Zanio route.

As for your Wipper Blades, 3.5 years is impressive. I get about 6 months to a year out of mine if I am luckey. I just change them as needed.

I changed mine with some expensive ones, then went to get a full service at the dealer and apparently new inferrior blades were included.

First off Zaino is a very fine product. It works just as described and has a very unique look about it and not the look that I care for but it does what it says it does.

I myself have fell back in love with Meguiars products after a few years of product jumping and playing with this and that. But I have came back to a product I know and trust.

I have never tried Zaino products but have never really heard of anyone complain about them besides the price. In the end, I probubly will never try their products becasue I am so pleasedwith the way "my" Meguiars looks and protects at the end of the day.
On a side note, I only replaced my factory blades a couple of months ago (Its a 2002). I guess you don't notice them going when you never use them! LOL I refuse to turn them because I hate when you see a car with the windshield wiper marks. Oh yeah, My girlfriend things I am nuts!

Not to get off topic here but I know what you mean about the windsheild wiper marks. This past weekend I did a full detail up on my mother's new car. I loaned her my truck a few times and she used the wipers to clear the dew off in the morning. When she returned I already had the Glass Cleaner and MFs at the ready. SHe had not even gotten into the house before I was unfolding my little 3 step ladder. I think I grumbled something about pulling the fuse next time.

Oh, Mom did geta lesson in doing windows with NXT Glass Cleaner and MFs. She is a parttime cleaning lady at the local Marina. She laughed when I showed her how little glass cleaner wasactually needed.

                Hmm, wiper marks...

I hate windshield wipers for the most part and would much rather have a good coat of Rain-X on the glass and let modern chemistry send the water flying off the glass.

LOL I'm the same way -- I guess I just end up 'needing' the wipers more often than I'd like to.

As far as wiper marks, that's when I pull out my (yet another Zaino product) Z-12 glass polish to remove any etching around the edge of the area the wipers got to.

Meguiar's really needs to come out with an affordable glass-specific polish....

Do you all clean your wiper blades? Also, do you park outside? I think it's the sun that damages them the quickest, not use. Mine get used, though I do try not to drive in the rain so much.

I clean them frequently though. I used to use #40, but now use those 303 wiper treatment things (they are easy to use and then you just toss the applicator). This helps a lot with the life of them.

The Nissan and Regal are outside pretty often and they both go a year or more on wiper blades. The Regal I think is helped by the fact that the wipers sit recessed in the hood, so they are sort of in the shade even when in the sun. I believe the wipers on the Nissan are about at the 1.5 or 2 year mark by now, and are probably ready to be replaced.

Bottom line is this as Mike's signature states...

Find something you like and use it often.

Zaino, Meguiar's, Zymol, Mother's, etc. all have there place.

If someone feels that Zymol or Zaino is right for them, I am certainly not going to try to convince them otherwise. They are good products.

I have found that Meguiar's, from top to bottom, has a very wide range of products for many different situations that most other brands do not have. There selection is great, and the quality of its products are as good as any. Customer service and dedication is also tops.

I use alot of Meguiar's products, but with that being said, I also use alot of Mother's products. I am going to use the best product for my application that gives me the results that I am looking for. Everyone should find what works best for them, and if they are happy, who is anyone to disagree.

I don't believe the purpose of this forum is to label people or criticize others. The purpose should be to inform and share experiences. I believe we all want the same thing in the end - a great looking vehicle. But there are many roads to that destination.

For me, those 303 things make the wipers streak on the glass. I do wipe them off with a paper towel and some glass cleaner (20/20 or Stoners IG) though.

The funny thing is, when I am at home, my truck is either in the garage or under the carport; and when I'm at work I park on one of the covered levels of our parking ramp. So 90% of the time, the Envoy isn't even exposed to the elements unless I'm driving it.

OOO God you have no idea how lucky you are!! The only covering my truck gets is the big *ss oak tree in front of my house! I absolutley love the tree, but hate what it and the squirls in it do to my truck! If it rains, there is brown water all over my truck! I can't use detail mists as often as I like because either the damn squirls chew **** in the tree which falls all over the paint and are to large to safely remove with a mist and wipe, or random tree branches and small leaf junk do the same!
That Honda/ Yota joke is histerical!!! lol

                                Ranger72,

I know fully well how lucky I am. Back when I had my dark green chevy blazer, I had to park it outside on a regular basis (was in high school then). Last winter, I can count on one hand the times that I ever had snow accumulate on my truck. Even then, all I did was wrap my gloved hand with an MF and toss it off!

Summer season, I went three weeks without washing (even with QEW) at all. It stayed dry outside (or at least it was while I was on the road) so all I did was run the cali. duster over the horizontal surfaces, and #34ed it every morning before I left, and every night when I got home from work.

What can I say, I'm spoiled by my job/home situation
