We all love to shine our rides, what else do you like to do???????
Re: We all love to shine our rides, what else do you like to do???????
Usually I play music. I used to program (with computers) a lot, but after seeing a bassist named Victor Wooten play I've been inspired.
Got a bass amp from a mate, that was salvaged from a council cleanup. I've shielded the wires and am in the process of changing the preamp and getting it in good nick.
Apart from that I do a bit of driving. Just did another High Performance driving course on Wednesday and really worked on cleaning up my lines and getting the gear changes out smoothly. All well and good if you can shift quickly but the wheelspin twitch really messes with the balance.

I like taking my Miata up into the local canyons or doing mod parties with the PT Cruiser guys - seems someone is always adding something to their PT so a bunch of us get together every few months and help each other out. Once a month or so we all make it over to California Dragway for the Street Legal Drags and raise a few eyebrows with the PT. A couple of our buddies on the East Coast have swapped out the factory turbo for larger units and are running high 12 second 1/4 mile times with them!
I'm feeling a bit too sedentary lately though. I spent 10 years racing bicycles - road, mountain and even on the track - but gave it up when it started feeling like work. Training 400 miles a week, travelling every weekend to one race or another, sharing a hotel room with 3 other guys, our bikes, gear, etc. I still have all the bikes and there look to be some nice mountain bike trails right outside our new home so I'm itchin' to get back into it, at least recreationally. I have no dilusions about my fitness though.....it used to be that I wasn't happy unless the road was going uphill, and the steeper and longer the climb the happier I was. Sick, I know, but one of my favorite training rides was a loop from Redlands up to Big Bear Lake, down through Angeles Oaks and back to Redlands. Almost exactly 100 miles with around 9000' of total elevation gain. I get worn out just thinking about it now!!

Boating for me too! Only I don't fish, and my boat doesn't shine like Tim's.
I spend most of my free time in the spring, summer, and fall out in my boat.
I also enjoy listening to my radio scanners and surfing the net!

When I'm not detailing vehicles, doing school, or working, I'm usually playing piano, doing something with my fish tanks (a 20 G H, a 10 G, and my sister just gave me a 40 G and another 10 G that I haven't set up yet), riding motorcycle, working out, beading, spending time with friends and family, and the list goes on. I also like mountain biking and skiing but don't get many chances to do either of them here in Florida.

Always working on motor vehicles of all sorts. From ride on lawn mowers to heavy equipment, boats too. I'm looking for a full time job since 9/04 & @ 57 yrs old I don't get many calls or interviews so constant working could be considered writing a survival manual.
