Saw an infomercial last night about Adam's Premium Car Care Products[/URL]

(Edit: Link removed as it sends our members to a website with Malware viruses and it's against our forum rules. -Mike)

They were showing the properties of their product called "Butter Wax", it went something like this:

TV Host: "that's a studio light pointed at the hood of that car"

Adam Detailer "Yes it is Bob, and the temperature gun is showing 200+ degrees"

Adam applies the wax to the scorched car!

TV Host: "Look at the STEAM!"

This was the part that crack me up! Seriously if it wasn't for the cheesy infomercial I would've given the products some credit!

    Just thought it was funny!

I know Adam and he's great guy... but I don't think this is the direction any serious person should tout their products. All paint care product work there best when applied to a cool surface in the shade.

Best results are achieved when products are applied to a cool surface in the shade. The only reason a person should ever be applying product to a hot surface in direct sunlight is for emergency reasons, (Bird Dropping), or because they have to, for example a mobile detailer or wiping foot traffic dust off a show car at an outdoor car show if it absolutely has to done.

To show this or tout this as a feature to a product sends the wrong message to people and could backfire in the long run.

You included a link to Adam's website and although I've been to it before I clicked to it again and then to his "Links" page to see what was on it, I found a number of links that went to pages using the word Maguires and thought that was interesting so I clicked on a few and here's a WARNING

      don't click on this link,

ford fairlane station wagon pictures resources and links to maguires c

On the links page as it tried to load 10 versions of this onto my computer...

      JAVA_BYTEVER.B

Unless you like viruses... might want to avoid Adam's link page and someone ought to send him an e-mail and let him know about this.

Now I have to go see if I'm infected...

      Thanks!

      p.s.

I'm going to remove the link you included to his site as it's a danger to our members and against forum rules.

        Has anyone tried his products?

I just finished watching his " Instructional " videos...good for a laugh anyways. Check out his technique with the P.C.

I detailed a classic ford T-bird recently. The car was left at a restoration shop and the shop manager called me to detail it.

It wasn't in bad shape as I detailed it the year prior but it needed some love. It had light swirls/spider webbing.

What I didn't know was the owners of the T-bird are hard-core Adams users and only want Adams used on their ride. They had everything from Adams they wanted me to use in the trunk.

I never heard of Adams except for online.

When thay came later that afternoon to pick it up they were super happy with the car. They went on and on about the brilliant Adams shine.

Well the thing is ------- I was never told that I was to use the Adams stuff in the trunk. I did see it when I cleaned the trunk but I went whole hog with 100% Meguiars.

I got a good laugh with that anyway.

            About Trojan Byte Verify

If your system is patched up to date and configured properly it's not a real security problem, but it's still a PITA to clear out.

Notice that in order to remove it you must make sure your antivirus program is up to date, turn off "System Restore" (right click on "My Computer"), disconnect from the internet, restart in Safe Mode, and then run your antivirus. I'd then restart and do it again.

            Been down that road,

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again, I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

I use Trend Micro and it stopped it in it's tracks so no problems this time, looks like Adam needs to do some house cleaning on his website however.
