They could have handled this much better.
Many 100s of lives would have been saved if they had done something earlier..
I just returned from 7 days of chainsawing (and more) in Gulfport and Biloxi, MS. I simply cannot describe the impact upon the area.

We have negotiated (with the City of Biloxi) a TWO YEAR Lease for a space for a Base Camp fo our Church Mission. We intend to provide a revolving 30 man crew, weekly, for that period.

If you REALLY want to help, find a local, faith-based organization that has a mandate to help. They will be leaner and and faster than any large organization!

    HEY! I'm back already!

And seriously contemplating a second week at "Ground Zero" (Gulfport/Biloxi).

PM me if you have specific ?s!

    Jim
If it was easy, everybody'd be doing it!

The Carolina mountains got hit hard with rain from 2 of those storms. Some places received 24" overnight!

It's been a good while since I posted here.

I made out through Katrina virtually unscathed. I was out of power for a week where I live at. Areas such as Kenner, Metarie, Harvey, Marrerro, and the city of New Orleans (east of me) got hit real bad.

The suprising thing here is today, months after the storm, is that businesses such as resterants and stores are in need of manpower. Economacally this area took a wallop, but it's coming back.

As someone affected by the storms, I would like to thank Megiar's for everything you have done for the relief effort. Thanks and God bless you
