    If you posted on the car history thread... how much$$$$$ have you spent buying your cars (just the purchase price...not including interest on vehicle loans or modifications?

    1969 Volkswagen Beetle named "Daphne" $1500 in 1973
    1968 Chevy Nova sedan named "Abigail" $500 in 1976
    1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus Coupe : $3000 in 1977
    1980 Datsun 310 GX : $6000 in 1980 (new)
    1977 Chevy C1500 pickup truck: $3500 in 1982
    1973 Chevy Malibu Laguna Coupe: $1200 in 1982
    1986 Ford F-150 XL: $10,500 in 1986 (new)
    1988 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport wagon: $12,200 in 1988 (new, with GM discount...my father in law worked at GM's Framingham assembly plant)

    1992 Ford Explorer: $21,502 (new)

    The present fleet..

    2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo: $29500 (new)
    1977 Ford F-150 Supercab 4X4: $21700 (new)
    2001 Ford Mustang $12,500 (gently used)
    1985 Nissan Maxima aka "snuggles": $250

    Total spent on vehicle purchases: $102,350 As Bart Simpson would say.. Aye Carumba!

            You get 1/4 price gas, and almost 1/2 cost cars.....

            I'll just post my last (and current)

                I have never understood that!


                I checked a 2004 Volvo V70 T5 on www.carpoint.com and fully loaded in the US was about $47,000 usd (I am sure you could get it cheaper than that) and you had to pay $65,000 for a 2001, ouch!
