  • The HORROR ... MY OWN FATHER!!!

My dad has been in a funk lately, he has Parkinson's and it's really made his life rough. But recently he's gotten some of his piss & vinegar back and has been working on his '79 'vette. He doesn't drive anymore so I help him when he needs to run errands. Well the vette has been in his garage for a few years and needed a new battery. I took him to Advance Auto Parts for a battery and when he came out, in addition to the battery, he had A GREEN CAN OF TURTLE WAX/HARD SHELL ... ... FOR THE CORVETTE!!!, which is BLACK!!

Now it looks like I'm going to have to conduct covert operations to make sure that can of, ugh I can hardly say it, that can of ... Turtle Wax is eliminated with extreme prejudice.

BTW, is anyone looking to pick up a brand new, unopened can of TW on the cheap?

We have every confidence that you'll do the right thing in this situation, Don. We'll just leave it at that.

I dunno why, but this sort of reminds me of the Meguiars Tire Brush that I've been trying to slip away from my moms house for a long time now.. I have no idea where in the world she even got it. All I know is she loves it. She uses it to wash the dog of all things, and told me "don't even think about stealing my brush" the 1 time first laid eyes on it. Lol.

Those brushes are pretty much extinct and very hard to find nowadays... And she loves it as a dog washing brush... *facepalm* lol.

            Lol ........

I still have flash backs of when I used that stuff 30 years ago. I think that's why I have Popeye arms now ...... nothing easy about the green stuff!

I had a several year old bottle of that stuff on my shelf and waxed the AC unit last fall. Still beading. I also used it on my door jambs a few weeks ago, just to use it up, and it was no harder to remove than UPW.. Don't know why people disparage Turtle Wax so much.

It's so rare that I'm not sure if I wanna use it on someone elses tires. Lol.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
