  • What is Cilajet? Any one have any experienc applying it?

Sorry guys I been MIA, two kids = no time.

    Do what is Cilajet? (http://www.cilajet.com/faqs.html)

    Is it like Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0? (http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...-coat-2-0.html)

Thinking about getting it done but want to know what the product is before I do it.

    Also some updates side notes.

Got a new Prius v in electric blue......hate the paint. It VERY soft and scratches easily but its so pretty.
Applied Collinite 845 on while the paint was hot/warm, the hazing wouldn't come off for 2 months thats with washing every week.

Been using Ultimate Liquid Wax for about 2-3 years now and decided go back to M21 2.0 because of the cost and I like being able to see the wax when I remove it. ULW just goes on TOO thin and doesn't feel like it completely dries.

Finally got to opening up and using the Microfiber system; I have been using it for about an year now (took a year letting my friends barrow my DA and pads to destroy the 2.0 pads with improper use). Aside form air compressing or brushing the pads, its so much easier and faster. It is a Game Changer, however I really don't care for the Finishing Wax, ended up just using it as a AIO on friend's cars.

Took a quick read about cilajet. Sounds like it is a typical sealant and not in the same league as opti-coat. You may want to invest in opti-coat for the new car if you don't have time to do it yourslef. If you have the time then I would stick with UW or M21.

I see a lot of people using cquartz UK lately. I believe it is a 2 year coating. By the way there is an ongoing thread over on autogeek about opti-coat now being replaced with opti gloss and that it is a 2-5 year coating as well. I skimmed through it.

Does Opti-Gloss last longer than Opti-Coat?

Good pictures of Cilajet (or something similar) after 2 years.

Opti-Coat 2.0 has been discontinued and replaced with Opti-Gloss. Opti-Gloss offers more gloss than opti-coat along with better protection. Opti-Gloss is now a 2 year coating versus opti0coat which was supposed to be permanent.
