  • Most recent detail suppy shipment!

Just thought I would share a quite unusual order for me. It doesn't have an Meguiar's! Haha, however corporate brother 3M has quite a strong showing. I decided to be a good little consumer, and grab some Black Friday deals.

The reason I am posting this is, I am just curious if any of y'all had any questions about these products.

I will be working on a BMW 323i soon, and that will probably be a test bed for some of my new products, so if you guys have a request, just shout it out. (Esspecially waxes, I have a problem with the amount of wax I own...)

    Thanks,
    Griffith Hawk

Try running Windows Updates and reboot your computer if you're on a PC.

Quite the collection there. Anyone else notice the 3M bottles are kinda styled like the AMMO bottles? I'm not getting the whole AMMO deal. They have great marketing, but man are those products expensive!

Yes! Believe me they are expensive, but I really get the impression from Larry that this is almost a fun side job.

And yes, the marketing he does with the brand image and the YouTube videos is incredible. Amazing stuff really for a small business. But when I was just staring to wash cars and get into making cars look good before I even had a car (2-3 years ago), I had never heard of detailing. I was stuck at my mom's office reading my car websites when I came across a link on The Smoking Tire about washing your car, I believe it was titled, "You've been taught to wash a car wrong your entire life."
I followed the link to one of Larry's first YouTube vids where I learned about swirls and all the basic principals of advanced car care that we all rely on. It was earth shattering to me! I thought I had been taking good care of the Subaru Outback I would inherit in ~2years! I am a car fanatic and HAD to make sure my car was perfect. I was already using 3M and Meguiar's products (family ties to the brand) and now felt so empowered to learn about cleaning cars. I didn't even know what a detailer was and I determined, maybe 15 minutes after watching his video, that's what I wanted to do: Wash and maintain cars for my high school job. I didn't know how bad the bug bit until I mowed enough lawns for a polisher!

Sorry for going into a life memoir there, but I felt I owed Larry something! I mean, he was the reason I am even on this forum most likely. There aren't many kids anymore who can even tell you what kind of car they drive, let alone actively attempt to keep it looking good.

But the reason that bottle is there on my shelf, is I sent him an email, sorta similar to what I wrote up top (hopefully not creeping him out) and thanked him for making the videos and asked a couple of questions on how he got to where he was and what schooling would I need to do something similar in the car care industry. He personally replied and answered each of my questions completely. I was amazed, he over earned that sale.

Sorry once again for the essay here, but AMMO had a big role in my becoming a detailer.

P.S. The Ammo Skin goes on the Miata every month, topped with a random wax seen above.
And the waxes may look excessive, but when you don't want anything for birthdays or Christmas besides car care products, they build up quick. I think my family finds waxes cheaper than video games.

BTW just thought I would add, I made the mistake of opening the Iron X in the living room. Lemon Scent is not a term I would use.... I had to open all the windows
