  • air stems and tissues

How many of you use a paper towel or tissue to take off the cap off the stem before putting air in your tire?
Reason I'm asking is because I just saw a guy use something like that to take his off.

    No never.

What's the purpose of the paper towel, do you know?

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

To prevent dirt from entering the stem, leading to the valve not sealing and a leak results?
      To prevent getting dirty fingers?
To prevent getting finger prints on the car??

I usually wear gloves or use a rag when removing the caps unless I just washed the wheels because I hate getting brake dust everywhere.

Guess most people do that so they don't get dirty fingers. But come on now it's just dirt or brake dust. Just wipe your hands off.

It's not always easy finding a place to wipe your brake dust coated fingers in these circumstances. I haven't used a towel myself, but seems like a logical thing to do. I've had dirty fingers from checking tyre pressures plenty of times. Guess this saves you bringing dirty hands back onto door handles, and into the interior of your car.
